Hello there
My name is Houston. I design brand systems and then build the best content possible inside them. Key art, identity, layout, and the photography that goes with it.
11 years of it and counting, most recently at Fender, where I've taken work from a global software launch to trade show floors. I'm a photographer by trade and a working audio engineer, so a project can go a long way before I have to hand it off.
Whether it's a launch campaign or snapshots at my daughters' birthday party, I can't help but get invested in the craft. Every image, every layout, every bit of emotion deserves the same care.
I work with kindness, excellence, and a little fun along the way. If that sounds like your bag, let's talk.

Frequently
asked.
What do you do?
I work across brand design, photography, and video direction. In practice that means brand identity and design systems, campaign key art, product and lifestyle photography, launch films, and the packaging around them: social, retail, and e-commerce. On the largest projects I have run all of it as one pipeline rather than handing pieces to different teams.
Where do you work?
Anywhere the work is. I am available for global travel and regularly shoot on location, having produced campaigns across multiple cities for international launches. Studio, soundstage, LED volume wall, live venue, or client site. I am based in the United States and travel for the majority of projects.
Do you take on freelance and contract work?
Yes. Alongside in-house work I run an independent creative practice, taking on project-based engagements and ongoing retainers. That covers a single shoot or deliverable through to a full campaign built and delivered end to end.
What kinds of clients do you work with?
Most of my recent work has been with music gear and pro audio brands, where I have led global product launches end to end. The same approach carries into DTC, SaaS and software, and CPG: categories where a product has to be explained and made desirable at the same time. If it needs a coherent visual idea carried across film, photography, and design, it is in scope.
Do you handle a project end to end, or one piece of it?
Either. I have pitched a campaign, storyboarded it, directed the shoot, shot the stills, mixed the audio, and designed the collateral. I have also been brought in for a single lane, most often photography or direction. Whichever way a project is structured, I am comfortable owning one piece or the whole thing.
What is your turnaround?
It depends on scope, but I plan backwards from your launch date and agree on milestones before anything starts. Smaller projects usually move in days rather than weeks. For a multi-phase campaign, the schedule is built into the production plan up front so nothing lands late in the rollout.
How do we start?
Send me an email with what you are trying to make and when you need it. If it is a role, a job description is plenty. I will come back with questions, an honest read on fit, and what I would suggest as an approach.
Email meBrand identity, design systems, campaign key art, and launch creative. Eleven years of graphic design across Fender, PreSonus, and independent clients, working on global launches and available for travel. The work spans logo and identity systems, album art, packaging, social and campaign graphics, trade show environmental design, YouTube packaging, and e-commerce merchandising for global product launches.
Commercial, product, lifestyle, and portrait photography, shot and finished in house. US based and available worldwide, shooting from studio product tables to touring stages: campaign and lifestyle imagery, high-end transactional product shots, artist portraits, live music and event coverage, and on-location documentary work for national brands.
Three campaign breakdowns from Fender and PreSonus: a global software and hardware launch, the physical debut of a new brand identity at the NAMM Show, and a flagship console launch I pitched and directed end to end. Each covers the brief, the creative platform, the production, and what I personally owned across film, photography, sound, and design.

I ran this one
end to end.
Leadership handed me the StudioLive Series III SE launch as a trial run for an Art Director promotion: my chance to own a global campaign from the first pitch to the final export.
I wasn't a one-man band, but I was the one accountable for the vision. I pitched the concept to leadership, wrote the storyboards, directed the shoots, oversaw the edit and sound design, shot the photography, and when we needed a mixer on camera, I stepped in as the talent too.
What I owned
Pitched the campaign idea to leadership and built the creative brief that greenlit production.
Conception, storyboards, visual direction, on-camera talent, and editing oversight.
Directed a full LED volume wall virtual production alongside a traditional soundstage shoot.
Sound design and soundtrack sourcing from a Fender recording artist.
High-end transactional product shots plus elevated, stylized campaign studio imagery.
Social carousels, dealer infographics, and web wireframing support across the rollout.
Designed to inspire.
Built to perform.
The SE line lives in two worlds at once: the meticulous control room and the unforgiving live stage. The creative platform had to hold both, cinematic and moody but engineered and precise. I storyboarded a film that moved from an abstract, texture-driven world into the real hands, rooms, and crowds the console actually serves.

One deck, one story: prove that a boutique creative vision could ship at flagship scale. Leadership greenlit the full production off that pitch.
Every setup, camera move, and cut was drawn before we rolled. The storyboards became the shared language across crew, talent, and post.
The Storyboard
I wrote and drew the shot-by-shot boards that set the film's pacing and framing, the reference every department shot against.

Transactional
meets elevated.
Two photo languages, shot and art-directed by me: clean, catalog-grade product detail for e-commerce and dealers, and stylized campaign imagery to carry the brand story.

03Where the
console lives.
To prove the range of the line, I extended the campaign into real rooms: tracking sessions in Nashville home studios and worship services in San Antonio churches, capturing the SE consoles in the hands of the people who'd actually own them.

03The launch didn't
stop at launch day.
A pro-audio flagship lives or dies on proof. Engineers, worship techs, and studio owners don't buy from a spec sheet. They buy from seeing the console work in rooms like theirs. So I built the social rollout as a system: a launch-week core to command attention, then a recurring series to keep the SE in the feed long after the announcement.
The insight: the SE audience researches gear on YouTube and Instagram, not brochures. The job wasn't to describe a mixer. It was to make a deep, technical feature set legible and scroll-stopping, then keep showing up after the launch spike faded.

The sustain property · SOUNDCHECK
Launch spikes fade. So the team built SOUNDCHECK, a recurring short-form series that puts the SE in the hands of real artists in real rooms. I led the creative treatment and directed the US shoots on location, running photography, lighting, and the thumbnail packaging, supervising scripts, and shaping the video treatment with our videographers and editors. It gave the audience a reason to come back and turned a one-week announcement into an ongoing story.

Alongside the social system, I designed the dealer infographics that translated the SE feature set into sales tools for the retail channel.

03The trial run
landed.
A single creative lead carried the SE launch from pitch to delivery: film, photography, sound, social, and collateral all speaking one language. Launch day outperformed the preceding three-month average, the trade press picked it up widely, and the SOUNDCHECK series kept the console in front of the audience long after announcement week.
